Under the advocacy of the then Standing Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Municipal Party Secretary Wang Guoping, former Director of the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture Qian Facheng and others initiated the establishment of the Hangzhou Qian Liu Research Association, and Qian Yanan was also one of the participants.

As a core member of the Qian Liu Research Association, since its inception, Qian Yanan has actively participated in the research and study of Qian Family Training, lectures and exhibitions on Wuyue culture, and other exchange activities, promoting the historical and realistic significance of Wuyue culture and "Qian Family Training," and pushing it into campuses, communities, enterprises, societies, and overseas.

The Lantern Festival Qian Wang Ceremony is an intangible cultural heritage with a long history and profound cultural heritage in Hangzhou.

Since the 21st century, with the reconstruction of Qian Wang Temple, Qian Yanan and the descendants of the Qian family, Wu Yue culture scholars, have deeply explored and studied the culture of King Qian of Wuyue. Through the "Lantern Festival Ritual Regulations" discovered by Mr. Ding Yunchuan in the seventh year of Tongzhi in Qing Dynasty (1868), and with the approval of the relevant government departments, the Hangzhou Qian Liu Research Association successfully restored the "Lantern Festival Qian Wang Ceremony."

In 2009,

the "Lantern Festival Qian Wang Ceremony" was included in the representative projects of Zhejiang Province's intangible cultural heritage;

In 2011,

the "Qian Wang Legend" was included in the national representative projects of intangible cultural heritage;

In 2013,

"Qian Family Training and Its Family Education Inheritance" was included in the representative projects of Shanghai's intangible cultural heritage;

In 2021,

"Qian Family Training and Family Education" was included in the national representative projects of intangible cultural heritage.

The "Lantern Festival Qian Wang Ceremony" has gradually become an important cultural activity during the Spring Festival in the Hangzhou area, adding rich humanistic connotations to the West Lake scenic area.

Developer and Reformer of the Research Association

The leadership team of the Hangzhou Qian Liu Research Association, based on the principle of combining virtue and talent, is elected through multiple recommendations, approvals from supervising departments, and elections by member congresses and the board of directors, implementing a system where the secretary-general is responsible under the leadership of the president.
