The application amount of adhesive is a key factor affecting product quality. To control the adhesive application amount well, attention should be paid to the following three points.
Before starting the machine, you first need to adjust the distance between the two adhesive applying rollers. Be sure to keep the distances on the left and right sides consistent. This ensures uniform adhesive application from left to right on the composite film. The exact amount of adhesive is determined at this step. Depending on different requirements, different thicknesses of steel rulers such as 0.6mm, 0.8mm, and 1mm can be used. Proper adjustment at this step can largely prevent issues like poor appearance and winding misalignment, thereby increasing the rate of qualified products.
The coating rollers must be kept in good, clean condition without any foreign particles. When adjusting the gap at both ends of the adhesive applying rollers, make sure to do so after the steel rollers are fully preheated. Keep the adhesive surface between the rollers as low as possible to allow for the addition of fresh adhesive at any time.
In actual operations, the adhesive application amount for composite films without printed patterns can generally be controlled between 0.8 to 1.2 g/㎡. For products with printed patterns, the adhesive application amount can be adjusted between 1.5 to 3.0 g/㎡ depending on the amount of ink. It is important to note that different types of ink use different resins and pigments, and therefore require different adhesive amounts.
